Hello everyone, and welcome to CANTER California's first online auction.
Auction opens May 16 at noon psd and closes May 22 at 8pm pst.
Items may be added at any time before or during the auction.
Below are the basics of how the auction functions, how to bid and how to sell.
First to buy or sell you must register with a valid email address and preferably a mailing address also.
Selling an item to benefit CANTER
To sell an item to benefit CANTER simply click on the category that fits your item the best. Then click "new thread" in the top right corner. If you are selling an item you will post it, it will get bid on, the bidder sends CANTER the money for the item and you will ship it directly to the winner when CANTER has notified you that payment has been made. Most of the time the seller donates the shipping cost as a donation to CANTER, if you would like the winner to pay for shipping, please list that clearly in the item description as well as the shipping cost. If you have some limitations as to distance for shipping, or will need to charge shipping for express packages (in the case of perishable items especially), make that clear in the listing. If you are offering a service (clipping, lessons, etc) please add a geographical limit or other details. Please post photos of your items if possible, this will help the bidder. You will receive a donation receipt from CANTER, so we need a valid email address when you register.
How to Bid on an Item
Bid on an item by simply posting a comment on the desired item thread (located at the bottom of the page) with a dollar amount for that item. A few items of higher value are listed on eBay. The link is provided on the forum. This items are all listed by CANTER and as with all items 100% of the proceeds go to CANTER. You must have or create an eBay account and log into eBay to bid on these particular items. Bids posted on the message board for these items will not be accepted.
Additional Information
* Everyone who lists or bids will be required to register with a valid e-mail address. It makes communication difficult if we do not have that information.
* All items will be assigned item numbers, don't worry about this when you list, we'll be sure to take care of it. If you see your posts being edited to reflect that, that's why!
* We will be setting minimum bids for items/services of a certain value.
* If you are charging shipping for an item, the winner will pay shipping directly to you via snail mail or your paypal account.
* If you are listing multiple items of a similar nature (like a collection of bits, or clothing in different sizes) and they are being offered individually, please post them in separate threads. This helps enormously with organization, so thanks in advance!
* Unless otherwise noted, all lessons will take place at the trainer's farm. You must be within reasonable distance to SHIP in for these lessons.
* Certificates will be mailed to winners of services.
* It is VERY important that ALL sellers/donators of goods/services contact us with valid mailing addresses when they list items, to ensure that out receipt letters are sent and received in timely fashion. Please do not wait until the auction is over! Thank you!
A note about TAX INFORMATION
CANTER California is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means donations are tax deductible. For the purposes of auctions like these, that means that donated items and services are deductible. Winning bidders, however, are receiving something in return for their donation, and so these contributions are not tax deductible.
If you are donating goods or services please make sure to contact us with your name and address so that we can send you a donation letter. You can do that via email to canterca@canterusa.org (make sure to have "auction donation" in the subject line).
Payment and mailing information will be posted prior to the auction starting. Please read all information carefully before bidding.
Thank you!
